Transcatheter Closure of Patent Ductus Arteriosus in infants between 2-10 kg

Objective: The aim of this study was to present our experiences on transcatheter patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) closure with different devices, mostly the Amplatzer Piccolo Occluder, in infants weighing between 2-10 kg. Material and Methods: In study, files 31 patients who underwent PDA December 2019 August 2022 were reviewed retrospectively. Results: Transcatheter performed 31(14 female) mean age 10.7±6.7 months (2-28), weight 6.6±2 kg (3-9.9). median narrowest diameter 2.2 mm (IQR 2-3) length 6 4.75-8). procedural success rate all interventional procedures 88% (30 34). Complications occurred a total four including failure device implantation one patient, post-procedural embolization 2 patients, significant residual shunt patient. None required surgery. 34 procedures, 3 which reintervention, devices used. Twenty-seven (79%) them Occluder. fluoroscopy times 10.5 minutes 7.25-18.5) 40 35-57.5) respectively. duration follow-up 10.3±8.8 (1-32 months). Conclusion: experience, treatment Occluder first choice for appropriate duct anatomy size kg, is safe effective.
